Harry Findlay: Passionate Game Developer and Educator

Ever since I first set foot in the world of video games, I've been captivated by the immersive experiences they offer. From the thrill of navigating dungeons in Dungeon Crawlers to the freedom of exploration in Sandbox/Exploration games, I've been deeply engaged by the diversity and creativity of the gaming world. This passion led me to a career in Computer Game Applications Development, where I'm currently in my ultimate year at Abertay University.

My journey into game development began in high school, where I was introduced to the basics of coding through Game Maker. This spark ignited a love for the development side of games, leading me to explore various programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, and as well as game engines. Today, I'm not just a student but also a coding tutor and developer of successful coding curriculums, sharing my passion and knowledge with others.

As I progressed, my interest shifted from playing games to developing them. My first foray into written code was with Python, which, though enlightening, was not enough to satisfy my ambition. This led me to C# and Monogame, where I found my gateway into game engines, starting with Unity. My time at Abertay University further solidified my skills, introducing me to C++ and Unreal Engine, which have become my go-to tools for game development.

Throughout my career, I've developed a deep appreciation for the creative process and the technical challenges that come with game development. My passion for game development is evident in my daily use of Unreal Engine 5 and Unity, showcasing my dedication to mastering these tools and continuously pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the gaming industry.

Beyond my technical skills, I bring a unique perspective to my work, having grown up immersed in the gaming community. This background allows me to understand the needs and desires of players, ensuring that the games I develop are not only technically sound but also resonate with the gaming community.
